how it works

If you’ve ever read a book that you really enjoyed and thought, “Wow, I want to read more things like this!” then you’re in the right place. We know the struggle. You rate your latest read on Goodreads, then go clicking through that “Readers Also Enjoyed” section, only to be completely disappointed because some of these books don’t seem even remotely related to the last book you read.

Who designed this algorithm? you think, frowning. Who thinks these sound at all the same?

Here at W(REC)’D, we’re certainly not knocking algorithms, but at the end of the day, it’s just an algorithm. It’s not a person. It cannot know what you specifically loved about that particular book, and sometimes the particular thing you’re searching for is too complicated or unidentifiable to Google. (Running a Google search for “books that make you feel like the sky” will probably get you some weird results.)

That’s where we come in. You fill out our handy-dandy form with as much or as little information as you like, send it to our inbox, and we do all of that heavy lifting for you. All you have to do is sit back and wait for us to get back to you. Depending on the intensity of your request, you can expect to hear from us between 48 hours to a week after you've emailed us, barring personal obligations or zombie apocalypse. Upon receipt of your email, we will respond with an approximate timeframe in which we will process and respond to your request.
